This is such a sad, sad story. All the sadder because it encompasses almost half our country that is filled with people who simply won't open their eyes and see what is happening to our once great nation. I weep for you.

I don’t think it’s half the country. And it’s hard to imagine that people will still be backing this chainsaw administration as they lose their services and everything gets more expensive. But then again, Stalin, Mussolini, etc. all rose to power in a wave of excitement.

Maybe not half... but it's more than I ever thought it could be. Can you believe we are living in a moment similar to the rise of Hitler? Mussolini????? WTF? I never... cm

I am so sorry, and I get it.

I, too, am struggling with MAGA people, and non-MAGA Trump voters who still cannot see how horrific the last 10 weeks have been for so many, including most of them. I am holding my breath to see if I need to severe ties with a couple of women who are dear to me.

My 2021 Tesla's bumper is now covered in protest stickers—only once before have I put a bumper sticker on a car. That was in 1992, and it read "Celebrate Diversity" from https://citizensproject.org/. My resident alien now ex-husband & US citzen and I donated time, money, and energy in response to hateful anti-LGBTQIA legislation in Colorado. Focus on the Family HQ had also moved its HQ to CO Springs—a campus that has now metastasized.

At this point, I am adding a sticker that reads: "We no longer have a difference in political opinion. We have a difference in morality." That's what it sounds like it has boiled down to for you. I know it's now my line in the sand.

Thank you for sharing your story. It has helped me clarify where I stand.
